Welcome

Formerly titled "The Traveling Job Coach" and then "The Traveling Athletic Director," this blog is
for me and my memory because it's not very good.
My memory is not very good. See what I mean?

This blog has also morphed into a place for me to share my thoughts on life and how I see the world.
These thoughts often bubble to the surface during my travels.

I don't concern myself with grammar. This is simply a place for me to record my memories,
thoughts and feelings while I travel.

I started this blog before my trip to Europe July 10-24, 2009. Email me at brosefield@gmail.com
whilst I'm traveling or comment on posts here if you see something that
strikes your fancy.

Yes, I used the words whilst and fancy in the same paragraph.

Epic Day

It's amazing what happens when I just get up and get out the door.  Here's what I got into today:
1.  Ferry to Bremerton
2.  Toured the USS Turner Joy as well as the Naval Museum
3.  Ate an amazing burrito in Bremerton.  Yes.  Bremerton.
4.  Flew from Lake Union to the San Juan Islands and back
5.  Ate at my favorite falafel spot in Seattle

The weather has been gorgeous all day today.  The ferry ride to Bremerton was about an hour and gave me a chance to catch up on some phone calls and enjoy another smooth ride on a Washington State Ferry

The USS Turner Joy is easily the best military vessel monument I've ever been on.  Everything was meticulously labeled and there was a retired sailor on the ship that would just start talking about what life was like on a ship and in the war.  It was incredible to hear him say that they were on call for 5ish weeks at a time and then would get a week off.

I decided to take a walk through Bremerton to see what was going (which turned out to be absolutely nothing which was ok) and to find something to eat.  I'm so glad I didn't go with Google because I happened upon El Balcon and had the most amazing Mexican food I've had in a long time.  The folks in there were super friendly as well.

After lunch I hit the Naval Museum which was small(and free) and decorated beautifully.

I had a choice between going to the mariners game or hopping a flight to San Juan Islands with kenmore air.  I'm glad I chose the latter.  I was able to spend two hours round trip in a sea plane and I was in heaven.

After a brisk mile and a half walk I hit up Falafel King.  I know not to expect a warm, fuzzy experience but my guy can cook.

Again, I'm glad I just got up and got out the door.  It's obvious that I can figure out some pretty cool things to do.  Does that sound braggy?   And why did braggy just autocorrect to Raghu?  Who is Raghu and why is he/she so braggy?
