Heading Far East

Hi there.  Welcome to RoseOverExposed.Blogspot.com.

This blog is celebrating 10 years...well almost...well, it depends on when you're reading this actually.  My first post was on July 11, 2009 from Shannon, Ireland which was the first foreign country I stepped foot on.  That trip was epic for me.  You can read my final thoughts on that trip here, but never had I experienced such freedom in my life....freedom to make decisions, figure things out and see some of the most beautiful places I've ever seen.

That trip in 2009 saw me traverse Europe from Ireland, to Scotland, England, France and leaving out of Barcelona, Spain.  I took risks, made mistakes, had incredible experiences like this one, and met some of the most amazing and loving people I have ever met.  Miles, if you're out there, when I make it back to Waterville, I will be taking you up on your offer to stay with your family.

It didn't take long, but I was hooked on travel.

In these 10 years I have visited 12 wonderful countries.  Mostly I've toured around Europe with the exception of Cuba back in 2017.

Number 13 on the list?  Japan.

I couldn't be more excited, anxious, nervous....did I mention I'm excited?  The way I typically travel can be a little anxiety producing.  I mostly stay in hostels.  I mostly don't have much of a plan of what I'm going to do.  I mostly move as quickly from site to site.  We'll see how this trip goes.  I have a feeling it's going to be a little different.
Feel free to shoot me an email whilst I'm on the road (brosefield@gmail.com) or comment on blog posts.  Hopefully if I have a decent technology situation, and even though I may not respond in a timely manner it's always nice to hear from folks.

And be forewarned:  This blog is for my memory....simply for me to remember what I do out on the road.  I truly don't pay much attention to grammar/spelling......you'll see what I'm talking about.  I was encouraged to start this blog for the purposes of my memory by my friend John Combs.  It's so cool to have 10 years worth of content to look back on.  I'm a fortunate guy to be able to do the things I get to do.  I'm terribly thankful to John for the suggestion to start blogging while traveling.

Also be forewarned:  I tend to post thoughts beyond travel.  Those thoughts usually have to do with what I'm learning and how I see the world in general while I'm seeing the world.

My favorite professor, Steve Garris, in my favorite class of all time at USC encouraged us to have experiences.  Simply have experiences.  I've done the best I can with that encouragement over my life.  It blows me away to look as far back as 2001 when I was first able to step on an airplane with USC basketball.....through all of the trips I've taken on my own dime....it's simply incredible and I'm extremely thankful to have been able to have the experiences I've had, and to have met the people I've met.

I'm looking forward to having more and meeting more.
