(Early sidebar: I am really enjoying coming up with appropriate, yet somewhat humorous titles when they are called for. You may say, "Well, Brian, nice to see your writings, however your titles are not funny." You'd be totally within your rights to say that. However, I'm ok with that. Truly. I'm good)
(Next sidebar: I'm writing this on the flight to Zurich using my Notes app)
I think I've posted about Airport Lounges before, and I'm going to post again.
When I booked this flight to Zurich last night(I was given the choice to spend an extra $22 to sit in business class. They offered(my thoughts in the parantheses):
1. Priority boarding(This is an eye roll for me personally)
2. An extra cabin bag since I would only be allowed one unless I paid extra(jackpot since I have a nifty little bag that I use as my personal item while stowing my Osprey 46 Liter bag in the overhead.....thanks Jeremy for the Osprey recommendation last year. It's been an awesome bag for me)
3. A free meal.....more than likely snack since this is a pretty short flight(Thank you may I have another?)
4. Airport Lounge Access(Oh Em Gee....yes!)
So I have something called Priority Pass(Google it....Google is an internet search engine similar to popular search engines like Alta Vista or Bing) that allows me 10 Airport Lounge visits per year across all airlines. I've been in a Turkish Airlines Lounge that I remember as well as the Avista Lounge while I was in Copenhagen. There have been others that I can't remember. See why I keep a travel blog? I think I have this service through my American Airlines credit card. I know, Dave Ramsey, but dang it's a nice perk.
But with today's flight(included in that $22) I was able to save one of those visits and use the combined Lounge at KRK. These lounges offer free food, drink, bathrooms(maybe I'll post about that next), and wonderful peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the terminal. I got to the airport way early not knowing what the security line would be like only to find out I got the Fast Pass business because I got business class(double jackpot). Oh yeah and the Lounge even had a shower. I was tempted to use it just to say I've showered in KRK, but I'm not showering in Europe to get the full experience of things. ONLY KIDDING. Or am I?
Anyway, not sure how much Priority Pass is outright, but as a frequent traveler, I recommend it for sure. Oh and you can bring a guest for a fee (I think around $20-$30).
Love your titles.
ReplyDeleteIs there an age limit on your 'free guest'? I've got $30.
